I decided to focus on the privacy settings of Facebook and how they are constantly changing to try to keep up with the times. Facebook is a social media site, where the information is for public knowledge. Though if you look back to the original, or very first Facebook, it was actually a somewhat private site. Each person on the site had to be a student of one of approved schools, those students were then only viewable by other students at that same school. Students who were members of Facebook could only access other students in the same school network. Isn’t this a private, non-public and non-internet-searchable standing? Once Facebook got super popular and they realized how much revenue they could make off the site, that’s when the private/public settings really started to change. Like everything in life it all boils down to money….
